Types of Air Conditioning SystemsNo matter what brand of air conditioner we use, there are only 4 types of air condition systems. To choose the best system, depends on how big is the area it needs to cover. Here’s a description of all the systems: 1) Window air conditioner: This is the most popular air conditioner system, since it can be installed in most houses. Most single rooms use window air conditioner. Window air conditioner major component comprise of evaporator, condenser, compressor and cooling coil. It’s installed as a single unit, in a single box and located in the wall. 2) Split air conditioner: The split unit comprises of two parts: the outdoor unit and the indoor unit. The outdoor units, fitted outside the room or house include the compressor, condenser and the expansion valve. The indoor unit comprises of the evaporator, cooling coil and the cooling fan. For this unit you don’t have to make any slot in the wall of the room. Further, the present day split units have aesthetic looks and add to the beauty of the room. The split air conditioner can be used to cool one or two rooms. 3) Packaged air conditioner: For more than two rooms or larger area, packaged air conditioner is the best choice. And usually you can find it at most of the offices. The unit comprise of condenser, compressor and evaporator. All the components have been ensemble in one single box, with high capacity blower. You can expect cooler air, through the compressor and condenser. The compressed gas will go through cooling coil and expansion valve that is located in many rooms. 4) Central air conditioning system: Another air conditioning system namely central air conditioning system is suitable for bungalows, large premises such as hotels, cinemas, shopping arcades and factories whereby an air conditioner is used to cool the whole area.
The cost of an air conditioner and power consumption is more expensive compared to the other air conditioner systems, because it needs to use a large compressor with huge capacity of air conditioning. The entire component of an air-conditioner is being centralized in one control room. There’s only one switch to turn it on and off, thus all areas that are using air conditioner can easily be controlled with one button only |
